About Khumai Danda Trek

While longer days on the route and physical strength are required for lengthy treks, shorter treks can be finished in a week and are less difficult. There are hundreds of short trekking trails in Nepal, but the recently discovered Khumai Danda Trek is quickly gaining popularity. The Khumai Danda trip is one such short trip that has recently gained popularity since it offers an undiscovered experience despite being situated close to Mount Machhapuchhre's well-traveled road. Major locations on this hike include Ghachock, Saripakha, Hile Kharka, Khumai Danda, and the highest peak, Korchan 3682m, Ghalel. A stunning view of the Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchre, Annapurna range, etc. will be yours.

After a two-hour journey from Pokhara to Ghachock, the Khumai Danda trek will begin. We hike through Sarikha to reach Hile Kharka from Ghachock. You will initially stay at Hile Kharka. The following morning, after breakfast, we begin our trip to Khumai Danda. Khumai Danda, at 3245 meters, offers stunning views of the Himalayas and Rhododendron plants. We depart early in the morning from Khumai Danda for Khorchen in order to get the best sunrise and a Himalayan vista of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchre, and Lamjung Himal. We resume our ascent to Ghalel after taking in this breathtaking view. Drive back to Pokhara from Ghalel.

This day begins with a delicious breakfast and then a long drive to the lake city called Pokhara. During the drive, you get to see beautiful views of rivers and small settlement areas. lush green hills, and waterfalls. Upon reaching Pokhara, you head to the hotel. You are free to explore nearby areas. If you want, you can also do boating on the tranquil Fewa Lake enjoying a stunning sunset.

You will take a 30-minute journey from Pokhara to Hemja on the second day of your trek. The hike begins at Hemja, from which you will begin trekking through the forests, hamlets, and terraced farms while taking in the views of the surrounding hills. The Hemja to Hile Kharka hike is a six-hour walk that is moderately difficult. On the route to Hile Kharka, Ghachowk regarded as the ideal location to view the Himalayas is located. In order to fully appreciate the views of Macchapuchre, Annapurna, and Lamjung Himal from Ghachowk, please take your time and go slowly.

Since you will be moving through the forest for most of the hike from Hile Kharka to Kumai Dada, it will feel like a jungle walk. The track is serene and a little more difficult than the trek from the day before because it becomes smaller and is also covered in a grassy hill. The panoramic views of Macchapuchre, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna will reward and greet you at their best despite a few difficulties. You will eventually reach Khumai Danda, which is located in the shadow of the enormous Macchapuchre Himal, after passing the Samsur Deurali.

Khumai Danda Trek Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory to have to join an adventurous trip in the Himalayas. It is for your safety. Travel insurance must cover things like illness, medical emergencies, accidents, death, trip cancellation, and loss of personal baggage & items. All costs for Emergency Evacuation must be paid in cash in Nepal unless an insurance company has agreed to pay all the costs on your behalf. Make sure that your travel insurance covers activities in the Himalayas if you are participating in them.

*Note: Foreigners are not allowed to purchase an insurance policy in Nepal. So make sure to purchase good travel insurance in your country, and it is your responsibility to check whether your insurance policy is adequate or not.


Khumai Danda Trek Accommodation

Khumai Danda Trek accommodations are Lodge and Teahouse. Around Kathmandu and Pokhara, we can find a good facility with comfortable accommodation at the Hotel. In the Khumai Danda Trek, all accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. During the trek, Himalayan Frozen Adventure will manage rooms with attached washrooms. In the teahouse, we have to share the toilet. A single room is available in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the lower elevation trekking region but might be impossible to higher elevations.


Khumai Danda Trek Meals

Kathmandu and Pokhara have included only breakfast. During the Khumai Danda Trek, all meals will be provided. In the Annapurna region, we can enjoy Nepalese food with international cuisine like Tibetan, Continental, Indian, Tibetan, Italian, etc. Throughout the trek, we have breakfast/lunch at the teahouse and Dinner will be at the lodge. You can choices different kinds of breakfast, lunch, and dinner from the menu.

Trekking Porter

The Trekking porter is an adventurous person who will carry 20 to 35 kg of stuff during trekking. Maybe you will feel hard to carry the bag at a high elevation, so hiring a guide is the best option. Those who have the ability to face challenges. Drink water

The Himalayan region can get normal free tap water, for this water you have to use purification medicine. bottled water or boiled water also available to buy at lodges and teahouses. Per day you have to drink about 4-6 liters of water for your health.


Passport & Visa

A passport with at least six months of validity from the return date is mandatorily needed. You can get a Nepalese visa from the Nepalese Embassies or Consulate in your country. You can also get a Nepalese visa upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Do know that there are a few countries that have to apply for a Nepalese visa from their own country. Obtaining your visa is entirely your responsibility.

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)

AMS or altitude sickness is one of the main risks while traversing in the high altitude. The main region behind getting AMS is when the body doesn't adjust to the lower level, and the result can be deadly. So it is very important to take proper measures on time. Gaining altitude with constant pace and proper acclimatization days will help reduce the chances of getting AMS.

Similarly, you also have to keep yourself hydrated during the trek, therefore, drink enough water and avoid alcoholic drinks as it dehydrates the body. If you are planning to trek in one of the adventurous trails of Nepal then do keep above things in your mind.

Khumai Danda Trek Best season

The climatic condition of Nepal differs from place to place depending upon geographical regions. One can have warm and hot wear in the terai whereas one can observe the chilling arctic-like weather in the Himalayas. Nepal’s weather is influenced by a maritime and continental factors and has four different seasons, Autumn (September to November), followed by Winter (December to February), Spring (March to May), and finally, there is Summer/Monsoon (June to August).

The best time to go on an adventurous journey in the Himalayas is in Spring (March to May) and Autumn (mid-September to November). These are the best times to go on any treks and climbing trips because of stable weather and a moderate climate. There is only one place in Nepal, where you can go trekking in even monsoon (July to mid-September) and that is Upper Dolpo. This region lies in the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and therefore does not receive rainfall in the monsoon.

Winter (November To March)
