Here, we've made an effort to cover every facet of the trek to the base camps of Annapurna and Everest. It could assist you in selecting the ideal option based on your interests. We've talked about things like journey length, difficulty, weather, cost, and other important issues. Since at least 800 AD, the Sherpa people who live in this part of Nepal have been living off the soil. This area of the world is special because of the Tibetan monasteries and culture.

Most trekkers who visit Nepal for the first time hope to make it to High Mountain's base camp, so they begin looking for it. We go into great length about Everest Base Camp vs. Annapurna on this blog.

There is a reason why these two treks are the most well-known in the Himalayas. The view is breathtaking in both instances. Most of the time, the Himalayas' snow-capped summits, the tallest mountains in the world, are all around you. Furthermore, planning is made simple no matter which option you select, even if this is your first multi-day high-mountain hiking experience. In other words, it's not at all easy to decide.

But as we are all aware, everything has a price and every issue has a solution, and these high mountains have a base camp with trails that are just as fascinating as the pathways to the ghosts above. Here, we outline and contrast the two most well-known base camp hikes to the world's highest peak and deadliest mountain, respectively.

Everest and Annapurna Treks Trip Duration

The overall amount of trekking days should be one of the main considerations when deciding between ABC and EBC. While the walk to Everest base camp takes between 14 and 16 days, the trek to Annapurna base camp lasts between 11 and 14 days. While they are not necessary for the ABC journey, the EBC route includes two rest days.

For both of these places, there are ways to reduce the time required. The number of trekking days would ideally be reduced, but it is wise to recognize the value of acclimating to new surroundings. The greatest choice is to adapt or customize your travel schedule.

Best Two Unique Experiences route

You should, in my opinion, carry out both. Mountain fans can find unique experiences in both the Everest and Annapurna regions. The issue nowadays is the excessive number of tourists who visit these areas with little to no planning or respect for locals and real hikers and trekkers.

Accommodation of Everest and Annapurna Treks

Accommodation in Everest Base Camp

The Everest region has decent lodging and is relatively well-equipped. Depending on your preferences, you can select from a variety of lodging options. Six of the 11 nights of this excursion will be spent in overnight accommodations built by a series of deluxe guest homes. Simple tourist-standard guest accommodations are only available for 5 nights close to the Everest base camp. Even in Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp, there are brand-new hotel structures. You can select from three different types of lodging for the six nights that you spend at Phakding, Namche, Dibuche, and Lukla.

Normal tourist accommodations that are still clean provide an attached bathroom, warm eating, an owned restaurant, and a bar. A good room with a hot water bath, the hitting system within the room, good meals, a restaurant, and a bar are features of middle-grade guest hotels. Higher-category hotels offer superior services while maintaining the same amenities. The price of high-category lodging significantly affects how much money you'll spend on your walk.

Accommodation in Annapurna base camp

The lodging in the Annapurna base camp location is essentially on the same level. Three nights at altitude are spent near the base camp in more modest housing with shared bathrooms. The rest of the accommodations have ordinary tourist rooms inside the bathroom. There is currently only one night of premium star-rated lodging available at Ghandruk at the end of this excursion.

ALTITUDE of Everest & Annapurna

Most visitors experience altitude problems when they are at high altitudes. Your body needs to be properly hydrated, and you should consume lots of garlic soup, to avoid the issue. The highest elevation you will reach here at ABC Trek is at 4,200m, with your trek beginning at 800m. After leaving Kathmandu, you will arrive at Lukla Airport at an elevation of 2,860. From there, your trip will begin and your altitude will gradually rise to Kalapathar, 5,360m, and the final destination, 5,545m.

The communities: Annapurna vs Everest Base Camp Trek

Several permanently inhabited settlements are located along the route to Annapurna Base Camp. You will initially come across lowland farming settlements of the Brahmin and Chhetri tribes. The Gurung people will also be present, particularly in the village of Ghandruk.

You'll pass through a few of the vibrant villages where Magars and Thakalis live. Particularly at lower elevations, you will study both the highly developed religions of Buddhism and Hinduism.

The Sherpa people live in the Everest region. They excel at high altitudes, for which they are renowned around the world. You will come into contact with and learn about the Sherpa people's distinctive culture while on the EBC hike.

Annapurna or Everest Base Camp Trek Cost

As you might have guessed, Annapurna Base Camp is significantly less expensive for short treks like the Annapurna Base Camp Short trek, which lasts for about 7 days. However, if you consider choosing an ABC trek destination that is closer to home, such as Tilicho Lake, Thorong La pass, etc., the cost for both treks is fairly comparable.

The price of the Annapurna Base Camp trip ranges from USD 460 to USD 870, as shown in the table above, depending on the number of days needed, private or group tours, and additional personal fees. Therefore, theoretically, a larger group will incur cheaper costs than a small group or a private journey. For families and large groups, we advise going on a private trek, but you are free to make your own decision. Everest Base Camp's prices range from USD 950 to USD 1470. It entirely depends on the packages you select and the number of days you wish to spend on the trek.

Difficulty Level: Annapurna vs Everest Base Camp Trek

The climb to Everest Base Camp is unquestionably more difficult than the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The greatest element is height. There is a considerable likelihood of developing altitude sickness as the altitude rises. On the two days of the EBC trip, you will ascend 3,420 meters above sea level. On the sixth day of the Annapurna circuit, you arrive at this elevation. There are several different trekking routes available in the Annapurna region. You can go for a brief, simple hike that doesn't get above 2000 meters.

However, you must be physically fit to participate in either of these excursions. You don't need any sort of specialized training for this. But you can start with simple exercises like jogging, running, or any other aerobic activity. You will be able to trek more effortlessly and for shorter periods of time thanks to this.
