Especially this 15 Days Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trekking Itinerary begins in Kathmandu with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and takes a scenic 7 to 8 hours jeep drive to Syabrubesi. The next day, the trail goes through the stone steeps and forest of pine to beautiful Gatlang village with enjoying the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung and landscapes. Tamang Heritage Langtang Valley Details Itinerary

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu

After you land at the airport, you will complete the necessary documentation and meet with our team representatives at the airport terminal gate. He/she will take you to the hotel and assist you in check-in. Later, in the evening, you will meet other team members over welcome dinner and end the day with lots of laughter. 

Day 02:Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

You wake up and have a delicious breakfast. After that, you will go on a short guided city tour during which you visit places like Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, etc. These monuments are part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your tour guide will explain about the monuments. Later, you meet with your trek guide and talk about the trail. He will help you check all the gears and documents before the final packing. 

Day 03:Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi 1,550m - 8/9 hours

After having breakfast, Leaving Kathmandu behind, you drive to Syabrubesi. The drive will be long and offers beautiful landscape views along with snow-capped mountains. Syabrubesi is the starting point of the trek that welcomes you with stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, etc. Overnight you stay at Syabrubesi lodge.  

Day 04:Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang 2,200m - 5 hours

The trail slowly ascends from Syabrubesi to Gatlang. Passing through Goljung village, you reach Gatlang village located on a hillside. The trail offers fantastic views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, and many other mountains. 

Day 05:Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani 2,607m - 6/7 hours

Leaving Gatlang behind, the trail provides snow-capped mountains and exciting landscapes, then you drop down to Thangbuchet and Chilime village. Then you walk through the lush forests and ascents to Cherka and Gonggang teahouses to reach Tatopani. Where you can relax at natural hot springs at Tatopani. And also explore the ethnic culture of Tamang and lifestyle.

Day 06:Trek from Tatopani to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali 2,400m - 6 hours

Leaving Tatopani behind, you ascend to Thuman. The trail passes by Brimdang and Nagthali. You trek through dense forests and get to see stunning views of several snow-covered peaks. From Nagthali hill, the trail descends to Thuman where you spend the night. 

Day 07:Trek from Thuman to Briddim 2,345m - 6 hours

After having breakfast at Thuman lodge, the trail goes through the Tibet classical trade route and Timure village, where you hike around the historical war place at Rasuwagadhi, it's the border area with Tibet that can be reached after crossing the bridge but we cannot enter there. You descend through the rhododendron forest then reach Briddim. Here, you will visit the Dukchu Gomba monastery. It is a beautiful village inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin.

Day 08:Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel 2,470m - 6 hours

The trail descends to Ghopche Khola. From here, you ascend and pass by Rimche. Further, trekking through lush forest, you reach near the bank of Langtang River, where Lama Hotel is located. 

Day 09:Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village 3,430m - 6/7 hours

After having breakfast, you ascend from Lama Hotel enjoying lovely landscape views. The trail will take you to Ghoda Tabela from where you can see snow-capped mountains. Further, the trail gradually ascends through temporary settlement areas and reaches a beautiful Langtang village. From here, you continue walking towards Mundu for a night stay.

Day 10:Trek from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa 3,870m - 4 hours

After having sweet breakfast at Langtang village, the trail go-ahead to Kyanjin Gompa. Today trek is short and scenic. You leave the big mani walls, meadows, yak pastures, plateaus, water mills, prayer wheels, and lovely villages. You can get to see amazing Langtang Lirung and Ganchempo. Finally, 5 hours of walking you reach the Kyanjin Gompa, which is surrounded by Himalayan and Glacier. There you can visit the Yak Cheese Factory, mountain village, and Buddhist Kang Jin Monastery.

Day 11:An extra day at Kyanjin Gumpa, excursion to Tsergo Ri (4985m)

Today is most excited and rest day of this trek. Before having breakfast, you have to decide where you wanna go like Kyanjing Ri and Tserko Ri or both of place? Tserko Ri provides more delightful scenery then Kyanjing Ri. Anyway, you climb to mesmerize viewpoint Tserko Ri for an amazing sunrise over the Langtang range. After spending a few hours at the top viewpoint, you'll descend Kyangjin Gompa, where you explore yak pastures and an ancient monastery. Overnight you stay at the same lodge.

Day 12:Trek back from Kyanjin Gumpa to Lama Hotel 2,380m - 4/5 hours

After having breakfast, you leave mountain land and descend through the alpine pastures, along a river, yak pastures meadows, and Langtang village. Similarly, the trek continues back trail to Ghora Tabela then crossing along with a Langtang Khola dense forests you reach Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 13:Trek back from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi 1,550m - 5 hours

Leaving Lama Hotel behind, trekking heads toward Syabrubensi. On the way, you cross the Rimche village and descend to bamboo with the beautiful riverside valley, then you move through the birch forest. Finally, crossing the Langtang and the Bhote Koshi rivers you reach Syabrubensi.

Day 14:Drive back from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu 1,350m - 8 hours

Today, you drive back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you head to the hotel. You will have a few hours to explore around. In the evening, you meet with other team members over farewell dinner. This is your last day in Nepal, therefore make sure to do all the things that you want to do.

Day 15:Final departure

You will fly back to your home. One of our team representatives will take you to the airport as per your flight departure time.

Without any trek can I do it? 

  • Yap, many trekkers succeed without any trek but you have to use acclimatization day through the trekking. Yes, you have the option to cancel this trip but there are some certain conditions:

  • If you cancel your trip before 60 days the full amount will be refunded
  • If you cancel your trip before 30 days the 30% amount will be refunded.
  • If you cancel your trip before 1 week the 5% amount will be refunded.

How to manage drink water through trekking?

  • The Langtang region can get normal free tap water, for this water you have to use purification medicine. Bottled water or boiled water also available to buy at lodges and teahouse. Per day you have to drink about 4-6 liters water for your health.

When to go Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek

The climatic condition of Nepal differs from place to place depending upon geographical regions. One can have warm and hot wear in the terai whereas can observe the chilling arctic-like weather in the Himalayas. Nepal’s weather is influenced by a maritime and continental factor and has four different seasons, Autumn (September to November), followed by Winter (December to February), Spring (March to May), and finally, there is Summer/Monsoon (June to August).

Autumn (September To November)

Winter (November To March)

Spring (March-May) is the second famous trekking season in Himalayan Nepal. March, April, and May is also a great option to mountain climbing and high altitude trek. At spring morning weather condition will be clear, but the afternoon sky covered by the cloud, and sometimes can be rain. You can get to see beautiful flowers like jasmine, pine, and rhododendron with wild flora. During the Spring, lower altitude trek is mildly warm and above 3,000m quite a moderate temperature. Summer (June To August)

In the summer season, the trekkers are less crowded in the Himalayan region will be less. June, July and August are the main raining season in Nepal which involves monsoon. Bad weather can hamper travel, maybe some problems during the journey due to heavy rain. Some travelers prefer to travel at this time as this is also not an emergency period. The weather is hot and almost everyday rains. This season is better for the tour to Tibet and in Himalayan Nepal like Mustang, Dolpo region, and Nar-Phu valley because these regions are in the rain-shadow.
