Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek Detail Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive Kathmandu

Land at the airport and meet with our team members at the terminal gate. He/she will greet you on our behalf and take you to the hotel. You are free to rest for the day. Later, in the late evening, you meet with other team members over welcome dinner.

Day 02:Sightseeing and trek preparation

The day begins with a historical tour of different monuments. You visit places like Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhnath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. All of these places are part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. During the tour, your guide will brief you about the importance and history of the monuments. Later, in the day, you also prepare for the trek. You meet with your trek guide, and he will brief you about the trail and check all the gears for one last time. 

Day 03:Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola [710m, 8-9 hours]

You take a long drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola enjoying the beautiful countryside and mountain views. Up to Dhading Bensi, the road is well-made. From here, it is going to be a rough bumpy ride to Sotikhola via Arughat.

Day 04:Trek Soti Khola to Machha Khola [890m, 6-7 hours]

You begin the day with a warm delicious breakfast and begin trekking through sal forests that ascends to a ridge. Following a rugged path, you pass by two beautiful waterfalls and descend through rice terraced fields. You trek through fine Gurung villages and reach Labubesi. Further, the trail ascends and then descends to a sandy river bed. From here, you walk on a rocky path and reach Machha Khola.

Day 05:Machha Khola to Jagat [1,400m, 6-7 hours]

Walking on a narrow trail, you ascend and descend a few times before crossing Tharo Khola. Passing by Khola Besi, you reach Tatopani. From here, the trail climbs to a ridge and crosses the Budhi Gandaki river on a suspension bridge. Further, you gradually ascend and cross another suspension bridge over Yaru Khola and move towards Tharo Bharyang. You will cross the west bank of Budhi Gandaki and ascend to reach Jagat.

Day 06:Trek from Jagat to Philim [1,590m, 4 hours]

The trail ascends through the rocky path towards Salleri. You then descend and reach Setibas. Further, the trail valley widens and continues to Ghatta Khola. Crossing a long suspension bridge, you ascend and reach Philim.

Day 07:Trek from Philim to Chumling [2,363m, 6-7 hours]

The trail passes through a forest and takes you to Ekle Bhatti. From here, you cross a gorge and trek through a lush forest of pine. Further, the trail drops down to Tsum Valley and ascends through another dense forest of rhododendron and pine. Following a downhill trail, you reach Ghumlong and ascend to Ripchet. You will then cross Shiar Khola and reach Chumling for a night's stay.

Day 08:Trek from Chumling to Chokhangparo [3,010m, 5-6 hours]

After having breakfast, you continue the journey by crossing a suspension bridge. The trail offers superb Ganesh Himal and crosses Serpu Khola to reach Gho village. From here, you ascend to the Chokhanparo village from where you can see breathtaking views of Mt. Himalchuli and Ganesh Himal.

Day 09:Trek from the Nile to Bhajyo aka Chhekya [4,030m, 4 hours]

The trail moves along the west side of the valley offering a beautiful Tibetan landscape. Ascending on a rugged path, you reach Mu Gompa, where you will explore a very old monastery called Dhephu Doma Gompa. Further, the trail climbs to Bhajyo from where you can see several Tibetan Peaks and the Ganesh Himal range.

Day 10:Rest at Bhajyo (Cheeky) [4,030m]

Today is a rest day at Bhajyo. You use this day to explore around and acclimatize your body to the altitude. You can witness a spectacular view of Ngula Dhojyang Pass and glaciers if it is a cloudless day. 

Day 11:Trek from Bhajyo to Rachen Gompa [3,240m, 6 hours]

Leaving Bhajyo behind, you drop down to Rachen Gompa. This gompa is believed to be built in 1905 AD and has huge importance. You will explore the Gompa after reaching here. Inside the gompa, you get to see ancient statues, mural paintings, and other antiques.

Day 12:Trek from Rachen Gompa to Chumje [3,230m, 5-6 hours]

The trail moves in the south until you cross a bridge. After that, following a downhill track, you reach Chhokangparo and continue trekking towards Gho. Further, trekking on the northern route in the lower Tsum Valley, you reach Chumje. 

Day 13:Trek from Chumje to Bihi [3,130m, 4-5 hours]

After having a warm breakfast, you trek towards Cihi. Passing through Dorjon Kharka, you reach Rana. From here, you will cross a large suspension bridge and continue walking towards Bihi. The trail offers gorgeous scenery.

Day 14:Trek from Namrung to Lho [3,180m, 4 hours]

From Namrung, the trail ascends through dense forests and lead you to Lihi. On the way, you get to enjoy wonderful views of Ganesh Himal and descend to Sho. Further, you ascend steeply and reach Lho for a night stay.

Day 15:Trek from Lho to Samagaon [3,530m, 5-6 hours]

Leaving Lho behind, you trek along a stream. The trail then passes through dense forests of fir and ascends to Shyala. Mountains like Himal Chuli, Ngadi Chuli, Ganesh Himal, and glaciers decorate the trail. The trail will take you to Sama Gaon, a fine village inhabited by Tibetans.

Day 16:Trek from Samagaon to Samdo [3,860m, 4-5 hours]

The trail descends to Budhi Gandaki and crosses a bridge over a side stream. You will follow the left side trail and pass through many mani walls. You then move through dense forests of birch and juniper and cross Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge. Further, a steep ascent will take you to Samdo.

Day 17:Trek from Samdo to High Camp aka Ekle Bhatti [4,460m, 5 hours]

The day begins with a downhill walk and crossing a bridge over Budh Gandaki river, you ascend. You will then cross two more streams and continue walking enjoying the stunning view of Larkya Glacier. Further, the trail ascends to Dharmshala and heads to the High Camp, which is also known as Ekle Bhatti.

Day 18:Trek from High Camp to Larkya La Pass [5,160m] to Bimthang [3,590m, 7-8 hours]

Today, you wake up early and trek across moraines. The trail gradually ascends and gets steeper. You reach the top of Larkya La Pass from where you get to see a breath-taking landscape view. Mountains like Annapurna II, Himlung Himal, Mt. Kangguru, Cheo Himal, etc can be seen from the top of the pass. Further, the trail descends to Bimthang, where you will be spending the night.

Day 19:Rest day at Bimthang [3,590m]

Before moving towards another village, you take a break in Bimthang. You can explore the village and go on short excursions. Here, you get to spend more time with locals observing their daily lifestyle and culture.

Day 20:Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani [1,860m, 6-7 hours]

The trail descends to Dharapani. Trekking through lush forests of rhododendron, you pass by Karche and further drop down to Gho village. From here, you move along the north bank of a river to Tilje and cross Dudh Khola on a wooden bridge. You then trek and reach Dharapani.

Day 21:Trek from Dharapani to Ghermu [1,100m, 7 hours]

Following the Annapurna Circuit Trek trail, you descend to Marshyangdi river. Crossing the suspension bridge over the river, you ascend and reach Tal. The trail further passes by Chyamje and Jagat. From Jagat, you descend through Marshyangdi Valley and you trek through Syange to reach Ghermu.

Day 22:Trek from Ghermu to Besisahar [800m, 4 hours]

The trail moves along colorful terraced fields and small villages like Bhulbhule, Khudi, etc. Further, walking on flat terrain, you reach Besisahar for a night stay.

Day 23:Drive Besi Sahar to Kathmandu by bus [1,300m, 7-8 hours]

Today, you drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will be long and offer scenic views. You get to see lush green hills, waterfalls, rivers, etc on the way. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you head to the hotel. The remaining day is free for you. In the evening, you meet with other team members over farewell dinner.

Day 24:Final departure

You will pack up your belongings and check-out of the hotel. One of our team members will drop you at the airport for your flight back home.

Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek Accommodation

Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek accommodations are Lodge and Teahouse. Around Kathmandu, we can find a good facility with comfortable accommodation at the Hotel. Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek, all accommodations are on the twin-shared basis. During the trek, Himalayan frozen Adventure will manage room with attached washrooms. In the teahouse, we have to share the toilet. Single room is available in Kathmandu and the lower elevation trekking region but might be impossible to higher elevations.

Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek Meals

At the Kathmandu have included only breakfast. During the Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek, all meals will be provided. In the Manaslu region, we can enjoy Nepalese food with international cuisine like Tibetan, Continental, Indian, Tibetan, Italian, etc. Through the trek, we have breakfast/lunch at the teahouse and Dinner will be at the lodge. You can choices different kinds of breakfast, lunch, and dinner by the menu.

During the trek, you will be the best training and experienced guide, who came from the high region of Himalayan. Our guide will carry all necessary paper and essentials equipment with a first aid kit. In case, if our clients come to some emergency problems of mountain sickness and accident then we immediately send a rescue helicopter. Any region of the Himalayan treks will demand good health and fitness, so make healthy your body before joining the trip.
